Collection of Information
Registration and Use of Information
No user is required to provide information in order to visit Fender's site. However, a user must register in order to be placed on Fender's Email News Service list. In addition, a user must register to enter contests and other promotions. During registration, a user provides certain categories of information, such as name, address, e-mail address, date of birth, and information regarding that user's purchase of Fender merchandise. The information which you supply to Fender enables us to customize our site to your interests and enhance your overall experience at our site. In addition, it helps us communicate with you about Fender news. Besides sending you the Fender Email News, Fender may use your contact information periodically in order to send you email regarding upcoming Fender events and promotions. In addition, we may request information for other specific purposes. If the information provided will be used in any way that differs from the treatment outlined in this Privacy Policy, we will identify the differences when we request the information.

Passive Collection of Information
In addition to the information that you actively provide to Fender, such as what you provide when you register for Fender's Email News Service, Fender collects information about how you interact with our site. Fender pledges that it will not sell, share, rent or otherwise transfer your information. Acceptance of Terms/Changes to Privacy Policy--Your use of this site indicates an acceptance of the terms of the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of such usage. Fender reserves the right to update or amend this Privacy Policy at any time.
If we are going to use your personally identifiable information in a manner which materially differs from the standards in effect at the time such information was collected, we will notify you and you will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner. If you have provided information to receive Fender's Email News Service and other Fender commercial email, you will be contacted by Fender, via email, regarding this materially different use. In addition, if we make any material changes to our Privacy Policy that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our site notifying users that our Privacy Policy has changed. In some cases when we post such a notice, we will also send an e-mail to users who have provided their information notifying them of the changes in our Privacy Policy.
Choice/Opt-out--Fender users are asked to give information to be put on Fender's Email News Service list or to receive commercial email regarding upcoming Fender promotions and events. WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED
We collect two kinds of information from your child. The first kind is Subscription Information, which includes Personally Identifiable Information which we collect during registration for the Fender® Hello Kitty® email newsletter. Personally Identifiable Information collected during fax/mail registration for children under age 13 includes your child's first and last name, year of birth, gender, and country of residence.
The second kind is non-personally identifiable information that includes your child's IP address (your computer's unique signature), operating system, browser software, Internet Service Provider, domain type and other numeric codes which identify a computer ("Aggregated Information"). We use cookies to collect Aggregated Information through an automated process. A cookie is a very small text file placed on your hard drive by a web server with your permission for record-keeping purposes. Cookies will be used to make a record of the pages your child visits and his/her passwords and preferences. Because cookies cannot contain any program codes, they cannot be used to carry viruses nor can they be used to extract data from a user’s computer. Only the server that sets cookies can access the information saved by using cookies. Because the functioning of our system depends on our use of cookies, our web sites do not allow access by users who do not accept cookies.
HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Subscription Information is used solely for the purpose of delivering the "Sweet Happy News" email to users who have chosen to subscribe to the email newsletter.
